In this episode , we speak with Shan Mite (real name: Li Huacan), a pioneering Chinese kayaker and the first from China to be named National Geographic Adventurer of the Year. Over nearly a decade, he has paddled close to 50,000 kilometers of oceans and rivers under his own power. His most famous journey took place in 2015, when he spent 234 days solo kayaking the entire Yellow River. Alongside him, his wife, Antelope, shares what it’s like to live with — and worry for — someone whose life is defined by extreme adventure. Together, they open a window into a world far removed from city life, where every decision can mean the difference between life and death.
